Youth Racing Programs
Blue Mountain Youth Racing is for skiers and snowboarders ages 5 to 18 - welcome to the big leagues! If you're ready to take skiing or riding up a notch, you've come to the right place. Enrolling in our Blue Mountain Youth Racing Program is an important step to achieve continued learning and experience being part of a team.
A note to Junior Athletes and Parents:
All Mountaineer and Competition Program are held both weekend days. Mountaineer and Competition program registration forms found in the Junior Program Booklet must be submitted in order to participate.
Youth Competition and Teams
Developmental Mountaineers is a 90 minute program designed for skiers or snowboarders ages 5 (before Dec. 31, 2020) and 6 not ready for the full 4-hour Mountaineer Program.
The emphasis will be on developing skills and preparing for the Mountaineers. All children ready for this program should be capable of handling beginner terrain, riding the chair lift without an adult, and be able to follow directions in their groups.
- Ages 5-6 Skiers & Snowboarders
Space is limited to keep groups small.
A Season Pass or lift tickets must be purchased to participate in the program.
This 4-hour program is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders ages 6 - 12. Emphasis will be on strengthening skiing & riding skills and developing the initial steps of racing or freestyle technique. Participants will be divided into classes depending on their age, ability and focus. All children ready for this program must be capable of riding the chair lift without an adult and be able to follow group directions.

NOTE: A Season Pass or lift tickets must be purchased to participate in the program.
As an alternative, the Blue Mountain Learning Center offers Winter Adventure Camp for skiers & snowboarders ages 8-14. With 4 or 8 week Saturday and Sunday options, you can tailor your child's Winter Adventure.
The Junior Competition Program is designed for advanced skiers & snowboarders ages 12 - 18. The emphasis will be on advanced racing techniques to prepare for competition.
- Ages 12-18 Alpine Skiers
- Ages 13-18 Snowboard Cross and Ski Cross
Participants are grouped into the disciplines of Alpine Skiing, Snowboard Cross, Ski Cross, & Moguls. A Season Pass or lift tickets must be purchased to participate in the program.
USSA Alpine Ski Classifications:
- U10/U12 (born 2008 - 2011)
- U14 (born 2006 - 2007)
- U16 (born 2004 - 2005)
- U19 (born 2001 - 2003)
- U21 (born 1999 - 2000)
All Junior Alpine Competitors must be members of the US Ski and Snowboard Association. All Junior Snowboard Cross and Ski Cross Competitors must be members of the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association. USASA Freestyle Classifications vary depending upon discipline or event.
Participants will be split into groups with discipline, age and ability taken into consideration. For more information about our competition programs, please email [email protected]
Extended Training for Alpine & Snowboard Cross, and Ski Cross is designed to better prepare our athletes for the demands of competition. (start date is dependent upon Winter Season open date).
Participants are grouped into the disciplines of Alpine skiing, Snowboard Cross & Moguls. A Season Pass or lift tickets must be purchased to participate in the program.
* Skiers or snowboarders who cannot make all days per week may register for the day or days of the week that they wish to train. Blue Mountain offers a Holiday Camp for Alpine, snowboard cross, and Ski Cross participants. Camp consists of evaluation and development of skiing or riding skills. Emphasis of this camp is skiing & snowboarding skill development.
U10-U14 Alpine racers will have limited gate training. Indoor sessions may be included in case of inclement weather. Camp participants must be enrolled in one of the Blue Mountain Junior Competition Programs.
Participants are grouped into the disciplines of Alpine skiing, snowboard cross, ski cross, or Moguls, and based on age, skill level and focus.
